How Encipher.Me Works

Three simple steps to secure communication - no registration needed.

1

Enter Message

Enter your confidential message. It is encrypted directly in your browser using AES-256-GCM before it reaches our server. The encryption key is randomly generated and never leaves your device.

2

Share Link

You receive a secure link with the decryption key in the URL fragment (#). Per RFC 3986, browsers never transmit fragments to servers - the key remains invisible to us and never appears in any server log.

3

Self-Destruct

The recipient opens the link and the message is decrypted locally. After the configured access limit (1-20 views), the encrypted message is automatically and irreversibly deleted from our servers.

Why Encipher.Me?

True Zero-Knowledge

Not just a marketing promise: our architecture makes it technically impossible to read your messages. The encryption key exists only in the URL fragment and is never transmitted to our servers. Even with a complete hack of our infrastructure, your data remains secure.

No Registration Required

Encrypt immediately - no account, no email confirmation, no personal data. Anonymous use is fully supported. An optional account only gives you an overview of your created messages.

Military-Grade Encryption

AES-256-GCM is the same encryption standard used to protect government communications (NIST SP 800-38D). Encryption uses cryptographically secure random keys directly through your browser's native Web Crypto API.

No Tracking, No Ads

Encipher.Me uses no analytics tools, no ad networks, and no tracking cookies. We don't monetize your data. The platform is free and fully respects your privacy.
